Visit with a friend and fellow blogger...

This past week I got the privilege of meeting Vanessa-aka Maiden of Purity (and her family!)!
I so enjoyed meeting her and getting to know her. She was very much a blessing to talk to. We were really able to relate to each other on a myriad of subjects. Very refreshing!

Tuesday I and my sister Michelle met her for lunch at Chipotle and then went shopping, and then to Starbucks. The next day we were able to meet their entire family for lunch. :0)

This is from Tuesday. When we went shopping.
First picture is Vanessa and me. Second is Vanessa and my sister.

-IPS-

Hey guys!

So, as I said in my previous post-I'm back from IPS and had the most amazing time. I seriously had an official blast. Even if I was utterly and seriously sleep deprived.

In the mornings breakfast was at 8:00am. But the girls in the cabin would start moving around/getting up around 6:00am. And being a light sleeper, this would always wake me up. SO, my day would start around 6. I'd get dressed, then go outside and do my devotions. All the mornings that I was there were absolutely crisp, fresh and gorgeous.

After this I'd go to the check in area to check stuff on my laptop... and grab a cup of steaming coffee. The place where we stayed at had coffee everywhere. Even in the gym. So handy, dandy and nice. Oh yes.

Finally when 8:00am rolled around we would all go and eat breakfast. The food was always so good.
After this, we would head out for a photoshoot. Previous to the photoshoot though, we'd be given a list of photo assignments, and guidelines (like, no reviewing your pictures, only 25 clicks of the camera, no deleting, etc.). When we'd get back it was generally around lunch. So we'd eat. Then have an afternoon filled with sessions. And more sessions.
Around 5:30pm we'd have free time. We'd generally use this time to go play volleyball. This was always lots of fun. Even if I officially stink at it. My hand-eye coordination is just not really there...

We'd eat dinner around 6:30pm. Then we'd have a bit more free time, then more sessions/photo critique (where the instructors would take each of your photos from that day and critique them). The sessions would end around 9:30-10:00pm. Then everyone would do whatever they wanted for a while. And then get ready for bed, and then it was goodnight (finally). Lights wouldn't go out until around 11:30-12am.

So, yes, that was a general, rambly over-view of my days at IPS. Of course there was always some variations, but that was the basic jest of each day.

-*-
So, now for pictures! These are just some fun, random pictures I took. They're not supposed to be "good" pictures or anything.

This was everyone eating. This is where we'd eat all our meals.

Everyone was so awesome and sweet and fun. :0) And one of the best parts was getting to use photography lingo around 'em. "uh, you're in the stupid zone!". "Whoa, you have *great* catch lights.". "Ooh, ooh, you're on a sweet spot!".

People sitting around during lunch break at a photoshoot. That day was disgustingly hot and humid. And we got rained on.

Free time.

Portrait day at a botanical garden. It was sooo beautiful.

Random picture I took (it's a mirror fyi) during a photoshoot.

Is what would happen once we got to our location is we would all split up into groups of twos and threes. And attempt to get all of our assignment photos taken.

-*-

This I took the last morning before we all had to go our separate ways. Us four spent the last few hours together playing soccer and then tennis. It was so sad. :(

I miss everyone so much! I had such a blast at IPS. It was a really incredible experience. I learned so much and had so much fun at the same time. I'm really hoping and praying to be able to go to another one next year.

Thanks for reading!

Back Home from IPS.

I'm back from IPS. I got back last night/evening. I cannot say how much FUN I had. It was seriously one of the best weeks of my life. :0) I made so many special memories and friends. And of course I learned a lot. It confirmed to me how little I knew about my camera and the general technicalities of photography. I'm so excited about what I learned. I feel like I really have something to work with now. Ya know?

Anyway, pictures and more details coming soon!
